The club is one of Spain's oldest and most prestigious tennis clubs and has a rich history of hosting international tennis events.

The club has hosted numerous prestigious tennis events, including the Barcelona Open, a men's professional tennis tournament that has been held annually at the club since 1953. The tournament has been won by some of the greatest tennis players of all time, including Rafael Nadal, Björn Borg, Mats Wilander, and Ivan Lendl, among others. Over the years, the club has produced many successful tennis players, including Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, Carlos Moyá, and Rafael Nadal.
